The artists' lair...

It is always enlightening to visit an artist's studio to get a sense on how they create.  David Culver has a north-facing studio in Bay City, WI.

The backyard and basement are used for heavy sculpture art (stones and logs) and the main level is used primarily for painting.

Culver is all about abstract colors, shapes and placement.  He works on multiple projects at the same time and understands exactly when a painting is finished.

David also has a 'retro' style to the things he likes to surround himself with.  This is especially interesting because it would otherwise seem contradictory to an abstract artist.

Also, since abstract art is all about expression, David is remarkable organized, but in his own way for his own purposes.

The work surface is really a holding surface.
