Authentic Sign Painting

Mike Meyer is exactly as you might expect of one of the last of the authentic sign painters; a pipe smoking, unpretentious, opinionated individual who paints and lives by his own rules.

When you visit his shop, you need to prepare to look everywhere.

Sign-1

To begin with, there are all kinds of signs, everywhere.

Sign-2

There are flat signs, dimensional signs, logo signs...

Sign-3

...there is derivative humor (this piece was painted by Dave Correll from Brushwork Signs, who is a contemporary of Mike's)...

Sign-4

...and signs on all of the walls...

Sign-5

...and the floors....

Sign-6

...but just driving around Mazeppa, you get the sense that Mike's influence  is everywhere...

Sign-7

...simply gorgeous...

Sign-8

...the Mazeppa Post Office has an especiually spectacular retro building sign.

Sign-9

And you can't be an authentic sign painter without an authentic sign painting truck.
